Gaffer for Commercial Shoot (Equity Partnership)

Alright, Vancouver crew! We're putting together a dynamic team for an upcoming commercial project, a fast-paced and visually engaging piece for a tech startup. Think sleek, modern aesthetics with a touch of approachable energy. I'm Simone, a 2nd AD usually, and I'm looking for a Gaffer who's ready to jump in on a partnership basis. This is a chance to truly own your work and be part of something from the ground up, sharing in the success. Your main responsibilities will be to design and execute the lighting plan, working closely with the Cinematographer to achieve our specific look and feel. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of various lighting setups, both practical and sophisticated. You should have a solid reel showcasing your commercial or similar narrative work. While we're open to any experience level if you've got the talent, it's essential you can confidently lead the lighting department. We're not expecting you to bring a full grip truck, but knowledge of standard lighting packages and the ability to source specific gear if needed would be a huge plus. Shoot dates are approximate, looking at mid-July for 2-3 days of shooting, likely 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services and a great atmosphere.
