Camera for Documentary
Hey filmmakers, I'm a stills photographer working on an exciting independent documentary feature exploring the underground art scene in LA. It's a character-driven piece, raw and intimate, focusing on the passion and struggles of these artists. We're looking for a skilled Camera Operator to join our small, dedicated team. Your main responsibilities will be operating the camera (often handheld), maintaining shot continuity, and working closely with the director to achieve our visual style. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute creatively to an impactful story, regardless of extensive credits. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging talent to seasoned pros, as long as you're passionate and have a good eye. We're hoping you can bring your own camera package (mirrorless or DSLR kits are fine, we have some lenses available if needed) and basic lighting. We expect approximately 15-20 shoot days spread over the next 3-4 months, mostly 8-10 hour days, flexible to artist schedules. We'll provide craft services and some transportation assistance. Compensation is deferred, with points on the backend. Please send over your reel or some work samples, we'd love to see what you can do.
