Camera for Documentary

Hey filmmakers, Rosa here, I'm the Crafty for an upcoming independent production, and we're looking for an enthusiastic 1st AC to join our small crew for an observational documentary. This project is a really intimate look at the daily lives of street performers in LA, focusing on their craft and community. We're aiming for a raw, naturalistic tone, nothing too flashy, just real stories. Your main job will be keeping our cameras happy and focused. That means pulling focus (of course), managing camera equipment, batteries, cards, and generally being a crucial support to our talented DP. We need someone who’s detail-oriented, a good communicator, and can anticipate needs on set. You should have some basic experience as an AC, even if it's on student films or passion projects, and a solid understanding of camera systems. Please have your own basic AC kit (e.g., tape measure, markers) and a familiarity with professional cinema cameras. While we have camera packages secured, knowing your way around different gear is a major plus. We’ll be shooting mainly handheld, so agility is key! Shoot dates are approximate for 3-4 days in late July, with 10-hour days expected. We'll be providing all meals (obviously, that's my job!) and transportation to locations if needed.
