Gaffer for Indie Music Video

Hey filmmakers, I’m wrapping up prep on an indie music video and looking for a Gaffer to join our crew. It's a really cool project, hip-hop/R&B fusion, with a strong visual narrative focusing on a dreamlike, almost surreal aesthetic. Think vibrant colors and dynamic shadows. I'm excited about the lighting possibilities here and really want someone who can bring creative energy to the set. Your main responsibilities will be collaborating on lighting design with me, executing the lighting plot, and managing our small grip and electric team. We're looking for someone who has a solid understanding of set safety, can troubleshoot on the fly, and has experience with various lighting fixtures, both LED and tungsten. You should ideally have your own basic G&E kit, and the ability to source additional gear if needed (though we'll have a budget for rentals). Please share a reel or examples of your previous Gaffer work. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late July, three days total, likely 10-12 hour days. We're shooting in various locations around Los Angeles. This is a passion project so it’s a volunteer position, but meals will be provided, and you'll definitely get a strong credit and great footage for your reel. Looking forward to hearing from you!
