Senior VFX Artist, Sci-Fi Short (Co-Producer)

Hey, Nelson Ford here, Rigging Gaffer on an exciting independent production. We're looking for a talented Senior VFX Artist to join our team for a compelling sci-fi short film. It's a character-driven thriller, set in a near-future New York, with a grounded, gritty aesthetic that relies heavily on practical elements, but needs some expert touches to truly elevate the world. Think less lasers, more subtle environmental enhancements and believable futuristic tech. This is not a green screen heavy project, but your expertise in compositing, motion graphics, and integrating CG with live-action footage will be crucial for a few key sequences. We need someone who can help us visualize and execute our specific artistic vision, working closely with the director and post-production supervisor. You'll be responsible for shot breakdown, asset creation, tracking, compositing, and final delivery of VFX elements. We're looking for someone with a strong reel demonstrating significant experience in film VFX, particularly with a strong eye for realism and storytelling integration over flashy effects. Please provide your own workstation and software. Shoot dates are TBD, likely late summer/early fall for 5-7 days, with VFX work primarily in post, flexible hours. As this is a partnership, you'll receive a Co-Producer credit and a share of the backend once the film is distributed. Really looking forward to seeing your work!
