Senior VFX Artist, Sci-Fi Short (Remote OK)
Hey everyone, Leah here, a Post-Production Supervisor on an exciting upcoming independent sci-fi short film. We're looking for a talented Senior VFX Artist to join our team for a few weeks on a paid basis. This project is a visually ambitious psychological thriller set in a near-future, dystopian world. Think Blade Runner meets Black Mirror. We’ve got some really cool practical effects, but there are several sequences that require some intricate digital enhancement to truly bring our vision to life. Your main responsibilities will include creating complex set extensions, developing futuristic UI elements for in-world tech, and handling some advanced composting work for a few key action sequences. We’re looking for someone with a strong reel demonstrating significant experience with high-end visual effects, particularly in the sci-fi genre. Proficiency with industry-standard software, especially Nuke, After Effects, and Maya, is a must. You'll need your own workstation and software licenses, but we'll provide all necessary project files and assets. This is a remote-friendly position, though local artists in Los Angeles are welcome to drop by our post-production studio occasionally if you prefer. We're estimating about two to three weeks of work, potentially starting in late August or early September, though exact dates are flexible. Compensation is competitive at $200-400 per day, depending on experience. If you’re passionate about sci-fi and ready to contribute some truly stunning visuals, please send over your reel and resume.
