Art Director, Horror Short

Hey Portland crew, I'm Chloe, a Production Designer looking for an Art Director to join me on an upcoming independent horror short. This project is a really fun, character-driven piece with a distinct atmospheric tone, think psychological dread with some unsettling creature design. It's set primarily in a creepy old farmhouse, so we'll be doing a lot of practical effects and set dressing to really bring that vibe to life. As our Art Director, you'd be working closely with me to execute the overall production design vision. Key responsibilities include prop sourcing, set dressing, managing practical effects elements, and generally helping me keep everything organized and visually consistent. We're looking for someone with a mid-level experience in art department roles, especially someone who has a good eye for detail and can work resourcefully to achieve a specific look. Please have a portfolio or reel that showcases your art direction or set design work. We're aiming to shoot for about 4-5 days late this summer, likely in August. It'll be a full commitment during those days, but we'll have a prep period before that. This is a passion project, so compensation will be a co-producer credit and backend participation, a true partnership. We'll provide craft services and some basic materials.
