Most Catastrophic Pre-Production Mistake for Indies?

Hey everyone, Megan here. I'm a script supervisor, usually working on larger sets, but I'm looking to dip my toes into producing my own indie short film, a passion project I've been developing for a while. I've been poring over advice on common pre-production pitfalls for first-timers, and honestly, the list is intimidating. Things like incomplete breakdowns, not enough storyboard detail, or even poor sound planning keep popping up.

I'm trying to be meticulous, but with limited resources, I know I can't perfectly nail everything. My biggest fear is making a mistake in pre-production that completely derails the entire shoot, especially without a huge crew to absorb the impact. In your experience, which of these common pre-production mistakes do you believe is the absolute most catastrophic for a first-time indie filmmaker?
