Gaffer (Senior) for Narrative Short Film

Hey fellow filmmakers, I'm Ray, a scenic painter looking to beef up the crew for an upcoming narrative short film. This is a gritty, character-driven drama with some neo-noir vibes, focusing on an ex-cop trying to make amends. We're aiming for a very specific, moody aesthetic that will push our lighting to the forefront. We need a senior Gaffer who can really deliver that visual punch. You'll be responsible for leading our lighting team, implementing the DP's vision, managing all lighting equipment, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with significant gaffing experience on narrative shorts or features, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to troubleshoot quickly. Please include a link to your reel or relevant portfolio showcasing your gaffing work. While we'll have a package coming from a rental house, it would be a plus if you have access to any specialized lighting gear. We're looking at a 3-day shoot, likely the first week of October, in and around various locations in NYC. Expect long but rewarding days, typically 10-12 hours.
