Balancing Tech & Creativity: World Anvil, Unreal, and the Creative Flow
Hey everyone, Luis Delgado here. As a Location Manager, I'm always looking for ways to streamline and enhance my process, especially when dealing with complex projects. I've been experimenting with tools like World Anvil for developing intricate lore and location backstories, and more recently, dabbling in Unreal Engine for pre-visualization of difficult or specific scenes. My goal is to use these tools to build richer, more immersive worlds for our scouting and production teams to reference.
However, I sometimes find myself spending more time learning the intricacies of the software than actually mapping out the creative elements. It feels like the tech is starting to dictate the thought process rather than merely support it. For those of you who've successfully integrated powerful tools like World Anvil or Unreal into your personal creative workflow, how do you manage to keep the technology from overwhelming the actual creative ideation? Any tips on maintaining that crucial balance?
