Structure & Schedule: 3-Act vs. 4-Act/Sequence for Micro-Budget Indie?

Hey everyone, Ngozi here, a fellow screenwriter trying to wrangle my next micro-budget indie feature into existence. The script's solid, characters are humming, but now I'm deep into the planning stage, and structure is on my mind. For my last short, I stuck to a pretty standard 3-Act, which felt manageable for our shoestring budget and tight shoot.

Now, for this feature, I'm exploring more nuanced approaches like a 4-Act structure or even the Sequence Method in the writing. I'm wondering, for those of you who have worked with super tight funds, how do these more elaborate structural frameworks actually impact your production schedule and shooting days? Does breaking it down into more 'acts' or sequences genuinely help with planning scenes or does it add complexity on set? Any practical tips for streamlining while still telling a compelling story when every hour counts?
