Wardrobe Continuity: Avoiding Rookie Mistakes - Seeking UPM Advice

Hey everyone, Aiden Cross here, UPM on a pretty ambitious indie feature coming up. We're looking at a tight schedule and some complex character arcs, meaning wardrobe continuity is going to be absolutely crucial. We’ve got a couple of newer folks joining the wardrobe team, and I want to set them up for success from day one.

From a UPM perspective, I'm genuinely curious: for newer filmmakers or those tackling wardrobe continuity for the first time, what are some of the most common mistakes you've seen beginners make? I'm thinking specifically about areas like photo documentation, detailed logging, or even mismanaging multiples and aging/breakdown of costumes. I've tried emphasizing meticulous photo review and clear labeling in previous projects, but complex sequences always seem to present new challenges.
