AI in Editorial: Are Editors True 'Artist-Technologists' Now?

Hey everyone, Darius Pope here, Best Boy Electric. We're currently on a commercial shoot, pretty standard stuff, my V-RAPTOR XL is humming along, got a couple of SkyPanel Xs blasting, and the gaffer's playing with an M18. I was talking to our editor on lunch about the fast turnaround on this spot. He mentioned using some AI tools for a few things, like generating some background plates for motion graphics and even helping clean up some tricky audio from a windy outdoor shot (the 833 was working overtime, but hey, wind!).

The conversation got me thinking. Five years ago, 'editing' meant something pretty concrete. Now, with AI helping out with tasks like B-roll generation or even nuanced audio cleanup, how has it actually impacted your day-to-day decisions? Are you finding yourself truly 'artist-technologists' as some are calling it, or is the core creative process still the same, just with some faster tools?
