Art Department Assistant, Feature Film
Hey everyone, I'm helping an indie feature film find a dedicated Art Department Assistant here in NYC. This is a gritty, character-driven drama set in the city, exploring themes of resilience and second chances. Think realistic, lived-in aesthetics, nothing overly stylized. It's a really compelling script with a strong vision from the director. We're looking for someone eager to learn the ropes of the art department. Your main tasks will include assisting with set dressing, prop procurement and tracking, light construction or fabrication, and general organization of the art department supplies. You'll be working closely with the Production Designer and Art Director to bring the film's visual world to life. This is an entry-level position, so a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in are key. Prior experience on student films or short projects is a plus, but not strictly required. No specialized gear needed from you, just your hands and a good work ethic. Shoot dates are roughly mid-July for about four weeks, M-F, 10-12 hour days. Lunch and crafty will be provided on set. This is a great chance to get some solid feature film experience under your belt and connect with a passionate crew. Let me know if you're interested!
