Art Department for Feature Film

Sydney, early August for approximately 4 weeks, seeking a keen and proactive Junior Art Department Assistant for an independent feature film. This project is a gritty, character-driven drama with elements of a psychological thriller, set in contemporary urban environments. It’s a compelling story with a lot of visual potential, requiring a sharp eye for detail and a knack for practical problem-solving. Your key responsibilities will include assisting the Art Director with sourcing and preparing props, set dressing, running errands (vehicle and license essential), organization of the art department space, and general on-set support. You'll be helping bring the director's vision to life through the visual elements of the film. It's a great opportunity to get hands-on experience across a variety of art department tasks. No extensive prior film experience is required, but a strong work ethic, a passion for filmmaking, and a proactive attitude are crucial. We’re looking for someone who can jump in and contribute to a fast-paced environment. Please have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Shoot days will typically be 10-12 hours. We'll provide lunch and snacks on set, and you'll be working closely with a small, dedicated crew. This is a fantastic foot in the door for someone looking to build their resume in the art department.
