Art Department for Feature Film

Hey there, we're looking for a sharp Art Director for an upcoming independent feature film. This is a gritty, character-driven drama set in 1970s New York City, think \"Taxi Driver\" meets \"Serpico.\" We need someone who can really dig into that era's specific aesthetic, creating environments that feel lived-in and authentic without being overly stylized. You'll be overseeing set dressing, prop sourcing, working closely with the production designer, and managing a small art department team. We need someone with several feature film credits as an Art Director, a strong portfolio showcasing your period work, and a solid understanding of budget management. Experience with practical builds and street dressing in an urban environment is a big plus. This isn't a massive studio picture, so resourcefulness and creativity are key. We're aiming to shoot for approximately 5-6 weeks in late summer, early fall. Prep will start a few weeks prior. Long days are expected, as is typical for indie features, but we're committed to a professional and respectful set. We'll provide all necessary tools, materials, and a dedicated crew.
