Colorist for Documentary, Detroit
Hey filmmakers, Jordan here, an aerial cinematographer. I'm working on an independent documentary about Detroit's evolving urban landscape, exploring its resilience and rebirth. It's a character driven piece with some really striking visuals we've captured, and we're looking for a skilled colorist to help us bring out the emotional depth in the footage. Your main responsibilities will involve color correcting and grading our footage to establish a consistent look and feel throughout the film, enhancing the visual storytelling. We're open to working with colorists at any experience level, whether you're just starting out or have a solid reel. What's most important is a good eye and a passion for compelling visuals. Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or similar professional coloring software is a must, and please share your reel, even if it's just student work or short projects. This is a volunteer position, but we'll provide meals during work sessions and you'll receive a copy of the finished film for your portfolio. We're pretty flexible with scheduling, largely remote but with some on-site sessions in Detroit as needed for final reviews. Project timeline is still a bit fluid but we're aiming to begin grading sessions in late spring or early summer, working evenings and weekends as needed. This is a great opportunity to get some strong documentary experience on your reel.
