Adapting Metaphorical Breakdown: Intuition vs. Structure?

I'm a drone op, mostly doing commercial shoots for real estate and some docs. I've been reading a bit about the 'Metaphorical Breakdown' process, understanding and dissecting a script or concept through its underlying metaphors. It seems incredibly insightful, especially for finding unique shots.

The guides I've seen are super structured, involving lists, matrices, and a very analytical approach. My own creative style, especially when I'm scouting with my ALEXA Mini or flying the drone for a client, tends to be more intuitive. I visualize, feel the space, and let ideas flow.

For a recent project shooting an urban revitalization doc with an URSA Mini Pro G2, I tried to force the structured approach. It felt a bit clunky, almost stifling the 'aha!' moments I usually get. Is anyone else grappling with this? How have you adapted this 'Metaphorical Breakdown' concept to fit a more personal, intuitive style, rather than strictly following the analytical steps? Or am I just looking at it wrong?
