LED Volume "Interactive Light" Fails: When Do I Still Need Traditional Fixtures?

Hey everyone, Miguel here, a drone operator branching out into more virtual production work. I'm trying to wrap my head around LED volumes and their 'interactive light' capabilities. The theory sounds great, ambient, reflection, and even some key light from the volume itself. We're looking at some projects involving an ALEXA Mini and a V-RAPTOR XL in the volume this fall. My question is: what are the real-world situations where that 'interactive light' just isn't enough, and you end up needing serious traditional lighting intervention? I'm talking about more than just a little fill. When do I need to bring in the LS 1200d Pro or a SkyPanel X even with a high-res volume around? What type of shots or lighting conditions lead to that breakdown? Trying to plan our equipment list realistically.
