Applying 'Prep-Ahead' Beyond G&E - Other Departments?

Hey everyone,

I'm Raj Patel, a Focus Puller, and I've been really trying to streamline our mornings. On our last narrative using an AMIRA, I pushed our Best Boy to start getting next-day's gear logs filled out before wrap, especially noting what's staying on the truck vs. what needs to be pulled for a specific location. It made a noticeable difference. Less fumbling for a SkyPanel S60-C or a couple of Helios Tubes at 6:30 AM.

I'm trying to figure out how to translate this 'prep-ahead' mindset to other departments to kickstart the day even more efficiently. For instance, I'm currently on a commercial shoot with a VENICE 2, and every minute counts. I've thought about maybe camera assistants prepping lens requests more thoroughly with the DPs the night before, beyond just general focal lengths, but I'm open to other ideas.

What practical 'prep-ahead' strategies have you seen or implemented in departments like Sound, Art, or even HMU to reduce morning chaos? I’m looking for actual examples of things that worked.

Cheers, Raj
