AI Audio Tools & Loudness/Compliance: Easier or Harder?
Hey everyone,
I'm Sofia Reyes, a location scout, and I've been doing a lot more commercial and corporate short-form lately, often with tight delivery specs. We just wrapped a series of spots shot on an FX9 with some 4018s for talent, and a lot of the post-production discussion has revolved around integrated loudness levels.
With all the new AI-powered audio tools and advanced plugins hitting the market, I'm genuinely curious: how are they impacting your approach to 'Loudness and Compliance'? Are these new technologies, stuff that promises to 'auto-mix' or 'intelligent-level', actually making it easier to meet specifications and avoid rejections for being 'too quiet' or 'too loud'? Or are they introducing new complexities, maybe even unexpected artifacts, that make the process trickier than traditional methods?
I'm trying to get a sense of whether to push for incorporating some of these into our workflow more aggressively, or if they're still more trouble than they're worth for reliable compliance. What's your experience?
