When does LED Volume lighting fall short? (Seeking real-world examples)

Hey everyone, Luc Gagnon here. Been doing more Steadicam work in LED volumes lately, primarily with an AMIRA or a VENICE 2, sometimes an ARRI Prime lens set, other times a Fujinon Premista. The volumes are genuinely impressive for interactive light, and the directors love the instant feedback. The guides often tout that the volume itself provides most, if not all, of the interactive lighting needed. However, I'm finding myself still reaching for SkyPanel S60-Cs, PavoTube II 30Xs, or LS 300xs more often than anticipated, even with the volume cranked. I’m trying to nail down when the LED volume's native light truly struggles and necessitates significant traditional lighting intervention. What specific scenarios have you all experienced where the volume's interactive light just wasn't cutting it and you had to bring in a full lighting package? I'm talking about things beyond just needing a motivated key.
