Subscription Fatigue & Web3: Shifting Power in Content Monetization?

Hey everyone, Omar here, usually wrangling a Steadicam rig with an ALEXA Mini or a V-RAPTOR XL. I've been noticing a lot of back-and-forth lately in terms of how content creators are actually making a living, and it's got me genuinely curious. Between my commercial shoots using a Forza 500 II for key lighting or setting up an MKH 50 for interviews, I’m seeing more and more people talking about 'subscription fatigue.'

I’ve tried a few different platforms for some smaller, passion projects (mostly doc-style shorts shot on a C70) but haven't really pushed hard into monetization beyond the usual YouTube ad revenue (which, let's be honest, is a trickle). Then you hear about Web3 and things like BlockReel, and it feels like a whole new ballgame.

So, my question is this: With this 'subscription fatigue' looming and these new decentralized/Web3 platforms emerging, how do you see the balance of power shifting between traditional SVOD (Netflix, Hulu), AVOD (YouTube, Pluto TV), and these newer direct-to-creator monetization models? Is one truly gaining a significant edge, or are we just seeing more fragmentation?
