EMA Green Seal: Impact on Storytelling & Creative Freedom?

Hey everyone, I'm Amara. I usually shoot with my FX3 and a couple of amaran 150c lights, focusing on social impact documentaries. I've been hearing a lot about EMA Green Seal certification becoming a requirement for festivals like Sundance, which frankly, sounds like a huge shift. I’m currently developing a passion project, a doc exploring the complexities of sustainable agriculture, and I’m already juggling so many variables. I’ve tried to streamline our on-set waste, but the certification itself seems like a whole new layer of planning and potential expense.

My primary concern is how this might affect creative freedom and the types of projects that actually get greenlit. Are we looking at a future where certain stories, or perhaps even certain shooting locations or techniques, become inherently less 'green-seal friendly' and thus harder to fund or distribute? How do you all see this evolving and influencing documentary filmmaking in the next five years?
