Wardrobe Continuity: Ideal vs. Real-World Compromises?
Hey everyone, Simone here, a working 2nd AD. I'm currently on an indie feature with a lot of costume changes and a pretty packed schedule, which has me thinking about wardrobe continuity. The ideal system, I know, involves extensive photos, detailed logs, and meticulous tracking of every single multiple. I've tried to implement this as much as possible, using an iPad for photos and a dedicated continuity log. But honestly, in the heat of a busy day, with last-minute scene changes or unexpected actor availability, things get... messy.
I'm curious what compromises you all find yourselves making when theory meets the messy reality of a real set. What's the most common thing you let slide, or where do you streamline your process to maintain some semblance of continuity under pressure, even if it's not the textbook method? How do you adapt?
