Making VOD Launch Work on a Shoestring, FilmHub & TikTok Strategy?
Hey everyone,
I'm a Best Boy Electric, usually wrangling Stingers for AMIRAs and V-RAPTOR XLs over here. My buddy and I just finished a short doc we shot on an FX6 with some Titan Tubes, and we're looking to actually get it out there. Distribution budgets are, shall we say, non-existent, think under $5,000 total for everything post-production, including any marketing.
We're planning to use a free aggregator like FilmHub, but really scratching our heads on making a splash without ad spend. We've been dabbling with TikTok, trying to build some buzz organically with behind-the-scenes stuff and clips. It feels like a shot in the dark, though.
For those of you who've successfully navigated a VOD launch with a super tight budget, especially using free aggregators and organic social media, what are your best strategies? How can we best leverage FilmHub and TikTok specifically to achieve a genuinely successful VOD launch?
