Hey fellow filmmakers, I'm Omar Hassan, a Steadicam operator usually wrangling an ALEXA Mini or a V-RAPTOR XL on most projects. My own short film, 'Echoes in the Static,' which we shot primarily on a C70 with some Helios Tubes for practicals, is finally finished. We kept the post-production tight and the sound is pretty clean, thanks to our MKH 50s. Now comes the distribution puzzle.

Our distribution budget is under $5,000, and I’m really trying to figure out how to maximize that. I’ve been looking into free aggregators like FilmHub to get 'Echoes' onto various VOD platforms. I’m also convinced that organic TikTok marketing is crucial for reaching a younger audience.

My question is: How can filmmakers with under $5,000 for distribution best leverage free aggregators like FilmHub and organic TikTok marketing to achieve a successful VOD launch?
