Green Practices on Indie Budgets: Real ROI or Long Game?
Hey everyone, Raj Patel here. I'm a focus puller and I'm really trying to push for more sustainable practices on the projects I'm on, especially the smaller, indie stuff. We often use cameras like an ALEXA Mini or a V-RAPTOR XL and a good mix of lights like Titan Tubes and amaran 150cs. The intentions are good, but when you're talking about a production under $100K, every penny is scrutinized.
I'm curious, for those of you who have successfully implemented green strategies on truly tight budgets, how do you actually justify the initial investment? Things like LED lighting are obvious wins for power consumption, and reducing catering waste seems like a no-brainer, but are there other areas where the immediate ROI is clear enough to convince producers who are already counting every dime? What's been your experience in showing the financial benefit quickly, not just the environmental one? Thanks in advance for any insights!
