Most Common & Costly Mistake in Modern Post Workflows?
Hey everyone,
I'm Derek, a 1st AC, lately helping out smaller teams get their footage from my ALEXA Mini or V-RAPTOR XL into editing smoothly. I've been reading up on modern post-production workflows, specifically things like automated transcription, filler-word removal, and robust proxy generation. The guides often point out pitfalls, like relying too much on AI for dialogue or neglecting proxies altogether.
I'm trying to preempt issues for projects where budgets are tight and time is critical. We've been making sure to generate ProRes proxies on set, and I've even experimented with automated transcription for dailies notes, which has been pretty good. But I'm curious from those who deal with these workflows regularly.
In your experience, what's the single most common and costly mistake beginners make when trying to implement these modern, often automated, post-production tools and workflows? Where do new folks usually go wrong that ends up burning time or money down the line?
