Power Planning Workflow: From Scout to Shoot (Best Boy Electric perspective)

Hey everyone,

I'm Darius Pope, Best Boy Electric on a narrative short right now, mostly working with an AMIRA and lighting with a couple of SkyPanel S60-Cs and some Forza 500 IIs. I've been doing a lot of reading lately on load calculations and the nitty-gritty of tie-ins, and it's got me thinking. My current process feels a bit piecemeal, I get the gear list, eyeball the location, and then do a rough mental tally. We've always made it work, but I want to be more proactive and professional.

I'm curious about your personal workflows for power planning. How intensely do you integrate detailed power planning into your pre-production routine, right from that initial location scout all the way to final equipment prep? Are there specific checklists you swear by, or any software (even just a spreadsheet template) that you find indispensable for tracking anticipated loads and distribution? Any tips for someone looking to streamline this aspect of the job?

Thanks for any insights!
