Minor Talent on Set: Real-World Scheduling Nightmares & Creative Demands?

Hey everyone, Kyle here. I'm currently coloring a short film with a couple of fantastic young actors, and the tightrope walk with their schedules has really got me thinking. We all know the rules for minors on set are strict (and for good reason) but even with the best planning, productions are rarely textbook perfect. I've seen things go sideways with unexpected rain delays or a director suddenly wanting 'just one more take' that pushes us right up against a minor's wrap time. Trying to make those calls stick, while also not derailing the whole day, is tough. My primary concern is always doing right by the kids, but how do you balance that with the relentless pressure of a film set? What's your most challenging real-world experience balancing strict minor scheduling/schooling rules with unexpected production delays or creative demands? How did you navigate it effectively without compromising either?
