Green Practices on a Micro-Budget: Where's the ROI?
Hey everyone, Raj Patel here, I'm a focus puller normally on narrative shorts and some corporate spots. I’ve been trying to push for greener practices on sets, but it’s a tough sell when you’re talking about an under $100K budget. Producers hear 'green' and immediately think 'expensive upfront cost,' even if it saves money long-term.
My usual setup involves an AMIRA or sometimes a C70, and we often use things like an LS 300x or a couple of Helios Tubes when we're trying to save power. We try to recycle on set, use reusable water bottles, that kind of thing. But I'm talking about more impactful, production-wide shifts.
What are the absolute key areas where a micro-budget production can implement green practices and actually see an immediate, tangible return on investment? Beyond just recycling and telling people to turn off lights, are there any practices with clear, fast ROI that I can point to? I need some solid arguments to convince producers that this isn't just an expense, but a smart financial move.
