Solo/Small Team: Realistically Managing 'Near 24/7' Social Monitoring?
Hey everyone,
I'm Omar, a steadicam operator, and I'm trying to figure out the social media game for my own projects (short docs, BTS from bigger shoots with my AMIRA and MKH 50). I keep seeing advice that stresses 'near 24/7 monitoring' and 'constant engagement' on social channels.
My last short, shot primarily on an URSA Mini Pro G2 with a couple PavoTube II 30Xs, got some decent traction, but keeping up with comments across YouTube, Instagram, and even a little bit on Twitter felt like a second full-time job. This was just for one project! As a solo operator or part of a tiny crew, we're already stretched thin managing shoots, editing, color, sound design, and then trying to secure the next gig.
I'm genuinely curious: how do you guys, especially those of you without a dedicated social media manager, actually pull this off without completely burning out? What are your practical strategies for consistent community engagement without sacrificing your life or artistic output? Are there tools, workflows, or mindsets I'm missing here?
