Production Assistant, Documentary
Hey filmmakers, I'm UPM Aiden Cross. We're looking for a dedicated Production Assistant for an independent documentary feature in Brooklyn. This project explores the vibrant underground art scene of NYC, focusing on stories of resilience and creativity. It's a character-driven piece, often intimate and observational in tone, and we're capturing some truly unique perspectives. We need someone who can hit the ground running and really be the backbone of our on-set operations. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with equipment loading and unloading, managing crafty, running errands, helping with location setup and breakdown, and generally supporting the crew wherever needed to keep things running smoothly. This is an entry-level position, so prior set experience is a plus but not strictly required (a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key!). You'll need to be organized, a good communicator, and able to hustle. Must have a valid driver's license and ideally access to a car, although not a deal-breaker if you're comfortable with public transit and have a knack for navigating the city efficiently. We're looking at approximately 8-10 hour days, 3-4 days a week, mostly on weekends and some weekdays, with shoot dates expected to span from late May through July. We provide catering on set and travel reimbursement within the five boroughs. Looking forward to hearing from you!
