Production for Short Film

After a devastating alien invasion, a lone scavenger discovers a message of hope hidden among the ruins. We're seeking a passionate and organized Camera Assistant for an ambitious sci-fi short film shooting in Los Angeles. This independent production offers a fantastic opportunity to gain on-set experience and contribute to a visually driven project with a gritty, emotional tone. Key responsibilities include camera setup and breakdown, lens changes, media management, battery swapping, and general support for the Cinematographer and camera department. You'll be assisting with maintaining equipment, pulling focus if needed, and ensuring smooth camera operations. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and basic knowledge of camera equipment (DSLR/mirrorless experience is a plus, but not strictly required). Please provide a brief reel or examples of any past work, even student films, if you have one. Shoot dates are approximately 3-4 days in late August or early September 2026, with flexible hours per shoot day. We will provide craft services, lunch, and a positive, collaborative set environment. This is a deferred compensation role with points offered, an excellent chance to contribute to a promising short film while building your resume.
