Commercial Production Designer (Co-Producer)

Hey Austin film family, I'm an Assistant Editor working on a really cool independent commercial project and we're on the hunt for a talented Production Designer to join us as a co-producer. This isn't your typical branded content; it's a visually striking, high-concept spot for a local tech startup, blending a modern aesthetic with a slightly surreal, dreamlike tone. We're aiming for something memorable. As our Production Designer, you'll be crucial in bringing this vision to life. You'll be responsible for developing the overall look and feel, sourcing props and set dressing, overseeing set construction if needed, and managing the art department budget. We're looking for someone with a strong artistic eye and excellent problem-solving skills. We need someone with mid-level experience in commercial or narrative work, a proven track record, and a strong portfolio demonstrating your design capabilities. Experience with independent productions is a plus, as we're a lean crew but dedicated. While we'll cover materials and rentals, access to some of your own set dressing elements or props is always a bonus. Shoot dates are approximately late June / early July, expected to be 3-4 intensive days. Prep will be flexible but consistent leading up to the shoot. This is a true partnership opportunity; you'll receive co-producer credit and a share of the backend once the commercial sells. Excited to see what you can bring!
