VFX Artist for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey Vancouver VFX artists, Chris here. We're looking for a talented mid-level visual effects artist to join an independent production, a sci-fi short film focusing on psychological dread and atmospheric world-building. It's a really cool script, think early Black Mirror meets some cosmic horror vibes, going for a unique visual style. We've got some interesting practical elements but need someone to elevate those with seamless (oops, sorry!) really good digital enhancements. Your main responsibilities will involve compositing, set extension, creature work (minor), and general visual clean-up. We're looking for someone who can work independently but also collaborate effectively. You'll need your own workstation and software licenses (Nuke, After Effects, or similar industry-standard tools). We're shooting in late August, early September for about 5-7 days, with VFX work to follow. Specific hours TBD, but we're aiming for a standard workday. We'll provide all necessary footage, clear creative direction, and a chance to make a real impact on a unique project. Please send over your reel showcasing your best work in the dramatic or sci-fi genres. Experience with rotoscoping and matchmove is a big plus. Looking forward to seeing your stuff!
