Low-Budget Wardrobe Continuity: Indie Film Hacks Needed!

Hey everyone, as a Casting Associate, I'm often involved in the early stages and then pop back in for certain shoots. I'm helping out on a really cool indie feature coming up, and we're shooting on an ALEXA Mini with some older M18s for lighting, very lean crew. The director and I were talking about wardrobe continuity, especially for scenes with multiple days or slight aging/breakdown of costumes. Photos and detailed logs sound amazing, but with essentially no dedicated art department budget, let alone a specific wardrobe person, it feels like a pipe dream.

We've tried taking quick phone pics in the past and just hoping for the best, but that always leads to scrambling. We have a few key costumes with multiples, and some that need subtle breakdown over a couple of in-story 'days.' Beyond just 'take a photo,' what are your absolute best, most practical hacks for tracking wardrobe continuity effectively on a shoestring budget? How do you manage multiples and aging/breakdown without a dedicated crew member or fancy software?
