Synopses & Revision Pages: Your Personal Workflow Integration?
Hey everyone,
I'm Ngozi, a working screenwriter, and I've been wrestling with how best to integrate standard deliverables like Synopses and Revision Pages into my development process. I'm currently on a new feature project, and while I understand their industry purpose, I'm finding myself doing them almost 'after the fact' instead of proactively. For example, I tend to write my first draft, then pull out the synopsis, and my revision pages often feel like a summary of changes already made, rather than a guiding document.
I've tried using a synopsis as an outline before writing, but then it feels too rigid. And revision pages... well, I'm still figuring out how to make them truly useful for my creative process beyond just being an external report.
For those of you who've been through multiple projects, how have you adapted or integrated these deliverables into your OWN unique writing and development workflow? Do you tackle them in a different order, or use them for purposes beyond what's typically expected?
