Client Reviewing on Laptops vs. Master QC: How to Bridge the Gap?

I'm an AD working mostly on commercials and corporate spots, recently shot on an ARRI ALEXA 35 and another project on a VENICE 2. We obviously adhere to strict technical specs for our deliverables, and all our QC processes are done on properly calibrated monitors. The general consensus in the industry, and what I've been taught, is to never trust consumer players like VLC for critical QC.

However, it's becoming a regular occurrence that clients, especially for those corporate videos, review cuts and even final masters on their uncalibrated laptops, tablets, or even their work desktops.

This discrepancy creates a real headache. We deliver a technically pristine file that looks fantastic on a professional display, but then we get feedback like 'the colors look off' or 'it's too dark' from someone watching on a screen that's definitely not showing accurate representations.

How do you all balance the need for a technically perfect, spec-compliant master with the reality that it often needs to 'look good' on wildly inconsistent, uncalibrated consumer devices? Do you ever grade with a 'worst-case scenario' consumer display in mind, or is it strictly about the professional standard?
