Future of Production Insurance: Practical Impact on DIT Workflow?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a handle on what might be coming down the pipe regarding production insurance, specifically how it could affect DIT work. I've been looking at some forward-thinking industry discussions, and topics like AI risk assessment, blockchain COIs, and mandatory cyber liability riders keep popping up for 2026 and beyond.
Currently, I'm usually dealing with the standard stuff on set, wrangling footage from an AMIRA or sometimes a Venice 2, making sure everything's backed up securely. We use Sync E for timecode, and my DIT cart feels pretty solid. But these new insurance concepts feel like they could really change things beyond just our current data security protocols.
Of these emerging trends (AI risk assessment, blockchain certificates of insurance, and mandatory cyber liability) which do you experienced DITs and production folks see having the most significant practical impact on our day-to-day work on set?
