Low-Budget Workflow Hacks: Calendars & Version Control on a Shoestring?

Hey everyone, Callum Doyle here. I’ve been rigging for a while now, mostly indie stuff, and my biggest headache by far is always budget. I’m trying to bring more structure to my projects (thinking 'Producer’s Workflow Bible' level) but it feels impossible with a skeleton crew and basically zero budget for fancy software or dedicated personnel. My current project is a small doc series, and just keeping track of schedules, shot lists, and edits across a couple of volunteers feels like herding cats. I’ve tried shared Google Sheets for calendars and just renaming files 'V1,' 'V2,' etc., but it gets messy super fast. How are you all adapting those core principles, especially around calendaring and version control, when you're literally scraping by? What are your most effective, low-cost hacks for keeping things organized with next to no resources?
