Miking Tough Wardrobe - What's Your Game-Changer Tech?
Hey everyone, I'm Elena Rodriguez, a producer working on a couple of projects right now, one's a doc with a lot of outdoor, cold-weather shoots, and the other's a fitness commercial. I'm finding myself constantly battling difficult wardrobe choices. We've tried the usual techniques: moleskin, medical tape, all the tricks to get our DPA 4060s and Sennheiser G4s to behave, especially with heavy coats or super tight athletic wear. Lately, I’ve been wondering, with miniature lavs getting so small, wireless tech improving, and even AI de-noising becoming a thing, how has new technology changed your approach to miking talent in these challenging wardrobe types? Are there any new tools or techniques you've found that are real game-changers for difficult clothes? I'm particularly interested in what's helping you on the audio front when we're running an ALEXA Mini as our main camera on these sorts of gigs.
