Camera for Documentary
Seeking a talented and experienced Senior Camera Operator for an upcoming independent feature documentary. This film explores the vibrant subcultures of urban art, with a raw, observational style and an intimate tone. We are looking for someone who can capture the authenticity of our subjects with precision and artistry. Your primary responsibility will be operating an A-cam (likely an Alexa Mini or similar high-end cinema camera) under the direction of the DP. You'll be working in dynamic, often low-light environments, requiring strong handheld skills and a keen eye for composition. Applicants should have at least 5+ years of professional documentary or narrative camera operating experience, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating diverse operating work, and a working knowledge of various camera systems. We need someone who is resourceful, a problem-solver, and a great collaborator. Shoot dates are approximately 8-10 weeks spread over 4-5 months, starting late summer in Los Angeles. Hours will vary, but expect full production days. This is a deferred compensation role, offering a backend percentage of the film's profits. We'll provide all necessary lensing, support, and power, but you should be familiar with industry standard camera kits.
