1st AC (First AC) for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey everyone, Garrett here, putting out a call for a skilled 1st AC to join our independent short film project. We're shooting a compelling sci-fi drama, very much a character piece with strong visual storytelling. Think grounded sci-fi, not huge explosions, focusing on atmospheric tension and intimate moments. We need someone who's sharp with focus pulling, can handle camera builds, and support the DP on set. This is a great opportunity to collaborate on an intriguing story and add some solid sci-fi to your reel. You'll be responsible for keeping everything in focus, managing camera equipment, and assisting with lens changes and battery swaps. Ideal candidates will have their own basic AC kit (follow focus, measuring tape, clapper, basic tools). Entry-level experience is totally welcome if you've got a good attitude and a willingness to learn on a fast-paced set. Please send over your resume and any relevant reel or work samples. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for 3-4 days in late June, likely weekends, here in Los Angeles. Craft services and water will be provided, of course. This is a partnership project, so compensation will be via a revenue share agreement once the film is distributed.
