Documentary Editing 🌍 Remote any Budget: Credit + meals

Hey everyone, Samantha here. I'm an Assistant Editor on an independent production, and we're looking for an Editor for our upcoming feature-length documentary. This project delves into the untold stories of Austin's underground music scene from the late 90s, using archival footage, interviews, and performance clips. It's a passion project with a raw, authentic feel, celebrating a pivotal time in local music history. We need someone with a strong narrative eye who can help us craft compelling stories from a ton of varied footage. Responsibilities include assembling rough cuts, incorporating feedback, and working closely with the director to shape the overall flow and pacing. Experience with documentary editing is a huge plus, but we're open to all experience levels if you have a killer reel that shows your storytelling abilities. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is essential. This is a volunteer position, but you'll receive full credit for your work and meals will be provided during any in-person sessions. We're looking to start post-production in late May, and we anticipate a flexible schedule (part-time hours initially) as we move toward a festival submission deadline next year. We're based in Austin, but remote work is absolutely an option if you're a good fit. Please send over your reel and a brief introduction about why this project excites you.
