Entry-Level Doc Editor, NY
Hey filmmakers, we're looking for a sharp entry-level editor for an upcoming independent documentary project here in New York City. This film dives into the vibrant, often hidden, world of street artists across the boroughs. It's an intimate look at their creative process and the challenges they face, aiming for a gritty yet hopeful tone. We've got a ton of great footage and need someone skilled at crafting a compelling narrative from it. Your main responsibilities will include ingesting and organizing footage, assembling rough cuts, incorporating feedback, and preparing deliverables for sound and color. We're looking for someone who's proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and has a strong sense of story. Editing experience on documentary or narrative projects, even student films, is a plus. Please submit a reel demonstrating your editing style. This is a part-time position, roughly 20-30 hours a week, starting mid-May for about 6-8 weeks. Work will happen at our small office space in Brooklyn, but some remote work is possible once you're up to speed. We'll provide all necessary editing software and hardware. This is a great opportunity to get a paid credit on a passion project and gain valuable experience in documentary post-production.
