Editing for Documentary
Seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Editor for an upcoming independent documentary feature. This project explores the unique stories of urban beekeepers in Los Angeles, focusing on their challenges, triumphs, and the vital role they play in local ecosystems. The tone is observational, uplifting, and aims to be visually engaging, much like a character-driven nature documentary. Key responsibilities include assembling raw footage, creating initial cuts, assisting with story structure, and incorporating feedback. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro is required. While this is an entry-level position, some prior experience editing documentary or narrative content, demonstrated through a reel or work samples, is a plus. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain significant experience on a feature-length project. We're looking for someone passionate about storytelling and environmental themes. Compensation is points participation plus deferred payment, commensurate with the production's success. We expect to begin post-production in late summer, with a flexible schedule averaging 20-30 hours per week initially, increasing as we move further into the edit. A dedicated workspace will be provided in Los Angeles, though some remote work may be possible on a case-by-case basis.
