Sr. PD for Gritty Short Film - LA

Looking for a seasoned Production Designer for an upcoming independent short film in the Los Angeles area. This is a dramatic, character-driven piece with a gritty, realistic tone, exploring themes of resilience and difficult choices. We're aiming for a strong festival run and need someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling, evocative environments on a modest budget. Your primary responsibilities will include developing the visual concept with the director, sourcing props and set dressings, managing art department logistics, and overseeing set decoration. We need someone who can translate our narrative vision into tangible, believable spaces that elevate the storytelling. You'll need to hit the ground running. Applicants should have significant experience, ideally on several short or independent feature films, and a strong portfolio demonstrating your range and creativity. While we don't have an excessive budget for rentals, your ability to creatively utilize available resources and work effectively with a small team is key. Shoot dates are tentatively planned for late August, early September, likely 4-5 intensive days. Compensation is deferred (points + deferred payment upon distribution).
