Line Producing for Documentary
Hey filmmakers, I'm producing an independent feature documentary based in New York City and am looking for an experienced Line Producer to join our team. This film is a character-driven observational piece, exploring a unique subculture with a raw, intimate tone. It's an exciting project with strong festival potential, and we've already secured some key access. We need someone to manage all physical aspects of the production, specifically budgeting, scheduling, crew hiring, vendor relations, and ensuring smooth daily operations. You'll work closely with me, the director, and our small, dedicated crew to keep us on track and within our financial plan. This includes overseeing permits, insurance, legal clearances, and logistics for upcoming shoots in and around NYC. Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience as a Line Producer or Production Manager on documentary features or high-end shorts, with a strong understanding of independent film production workflows and budgeting software. We're looking for someone who is organized, resourceful, and a great communicator. Familiarity with New York City locations and crew is a big plus. While this is a deferred compensation position, offering a percentage of backend profits, we are committed to applying for grants and seeking additional funding. Shoot dates are TBD but we anticipate principal photography to begin in late summer 2024, with primary work hours being flexible, project-dependent, but generally full time during active production periods. We'll provide necessary production insurance and a dedicated production office space during active phases. Please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining relevant experience.
